Our Friday night dinner party went quite well I think. After being delayed for a maddeningly long time at my doctor’s office (hindsight says I should have rescheduled the appointment), everything came together nicely. We are always pleasantly surprised at just how good that squash soup is and the rosemary bread is always popular. The fillets were a little closer to medium than the desired medium-rare, but they were still juicy and tender, suffused with a delicous pâté and placed in a buttery, mushroom sauce.
I have updated the dinner party menu with the recipes for the hors d’oeuvres and the Beef Wellington.
After having made up our menu for the main course and side dishes I consulted the recipe for Beef Wellington to find that the illustration showed the exact same side dishes. Great minds think alike, perhaps?
For me, one of the most delightful things about hosting a dinner party is to sit back and watch my guests enjoy themselves. I had a ball!
